This week’s main thought: It is so hard to not give into temptation when everyone is doing it. The main goal for this week is to express to students the importance of pleasing God vs. fitting in with their friends.

FPSTUDENTS SUMMER CAMP ’13:  MADE

We are so excited to unveil this year’s remade camp experience for students in grades 6th-12th across all of our FP campuses.  Our theme this year is MADE.  Have you ever wanted to be made into someone different?  Alot of people do.  They dream of being a Pro Athlete, or Supermodel, or maybe even a professional Recording Artist.  What if you hade a coach who could help turn that dream into a reality?  Someone who could help you be made into what you want to be.  At camp we are going to look at what it takes to be MADE into who God designed us to be.

There are a lot of exciting changes to this years summer camp experience.  First of all we have changed the location.  This has allowed us to drop the cost so more people can attend.  Don’t worry there are still a ton of options for things to do at camp: (Rock Climbing Wall, Paintball Course, Horseback Riding, Soccer, Baseball, Wiffle Ball, Basketball, BMX Bike Park, Skate Park, Giant Swimming Lake, a Blob, a professional recording studio, and Water Slides and Zip Lines into the Lake from each tree-house village)  Now that’s alot to do during free time.

The second change is that we are offering two weeks of camp for you to choose from.  This change will make camp possible for more people who might not be able go due to schedule conflicts.  Just choose the week that works best for your family.

Dates:  Week 1:  July 12-16, 2013    Week 2: July 27-31, 2013
Cost:  $199 (a hundred dollar savings over last year)

FPStudents  REALIZES that we are not the answer to discipling students…parents are!  We are excited to get to partner with parents in ministering to their students, even in the midst of changing dynamics in their relationship with their students. The following is a list of resources that we encourage you as a parent to utilize to continue connecting with your student and help them grow in their faith.

The Parent Resource:  For each series, as well as each FPstudents event, we create a parent resource that gives you, the parent, great questions and ideas to spark discussion during the times you have that you spend with your students: in the car, at the table, and during down time. These questions deal directly with what we are talking about weekly during FPSTUDENTS.  We also podcast all our messages from Sunday night so you as the parent can listen and hear exactly what your student hears on Sunday night.

Every Parent A Volunteer:  You heard us right…we need as many volunteers as possible to help us connect with students and their parents. From greeters @ FPstudents, snack shak volunteers, and crowd control, to small group leaders, coaches, and fuel group leaders, there is a role for everyone. If you don’t who will?  Besides, your student wont tell you this, but when they see you involved, it says to them that this must be really important.  So what are you waiting for?

::Important Parent News::

Help Needed- God’s hand is truly on our ministry.  He is growing our ministry beyond belief.   With that comes an increasing need for parents to help out.  As always we would love to have you serve as group leaders, or coaches, but we really need parents to commit to serving on the supervision and welcome crew.  We are asking all parents to commit to at least a week a month to helping us out in this area.  If you would be willing to do that or more please contact Kim Llanusa today, kimberlyLx2@yahoo.com.

Arriving Early – On Sunday nights, we have a very small time period to get students checked in.  To help out with this we have implemented a self check in process for our students which has cut our time in half.  We need your help in trying to have your student here each week by 5:45 pm so they can have time to get checked in, and be in the room by 6:00pm when we start FPstudents.  Please help your student realize how important it is for them to keep up with their key tag or sticker for check in.  They can put the key tag on a key ring, and the sticker on a cell phone, inside their Bible, or on anything they will have with them each week at FPstudents.  Please note that students should be picked up at 7:30pm, when FPstudents is over.

Join Middle and High School aged students from all over Knoxville each Sunday night from 6:00-7:30pm for fpstudents.  Each week Middle and High Schoolers gather for a high energy worship experience that allows them to connect to God through live worship and an honest look at the word of God, as well as having a rocking time with large group games, and ridiculously funny videos.  Life Groups at fpstudents are created based on age and gender.  The purpose of this time is to create unity by encouraging and holding each other accountable as we walk through life together.

fpstudents meets on Sunday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the Expo Center off Clinton Highway.  Here’s what a typical night looks like:

5:45pm                 Check in and hang out
6:00pm                 Large Group Experience begins
6:50pm                 Life Groups begin 
7:30pm                 Dismiss

 We also have Snack Shack each week which has drinks, candy, and snacks, as well as  hot food options each week for students at a minimal price.  Any profit from the Snack Shack goes to provide scholarships for our summer camp for students
